People are not afraid of lies. They are afraid of the moment someone sees the truth before they do.
He hadn’t planned to speak.
Especially after her warning.
But the problem was that now he could no longer simply ignore what he noticed.
It happened again.
In the same café.
A few days later.
He noticed her immediately.

The same woman.
But this time she sat alone.
No smile.
Her phone lay face down in front of her.
She stared out the window as if waiting not for a person.
For a decision.
And the moment he saw her face, the feeling returned.
Stronger than before.
Wrong.
As if something had already started cracking.
He stayed still for a long time.
He remembered her words.
Don’t interfere.
But then the woman suddenly picked up her phone.
And in that moment, he understood:
if he said nothing now, it would be too late.
He walked toward her table.
Awkwardly.
Without any real plan.
She looked up.
Tired.
He said:
You shouldn’t trust him.
Silence.
The wrong kind.
Her expression changed instantly.
Not fear.
Defense.
Slowly, she placed the phone back down.
Then coldly asked:
Excuse me… do I know you?
He understood the mistake immediately.
Not logically.
Internally.
Because to her, he was not someone trying to help.
He was a stranger suddenly speaking about her life as if he knew something.
And that was frightening.
Even he could feel it.
She stood up.
Quickly.
Grabbed her bag.
And before leaving, she said:
Don’t ever come near me again.
He remained standing in the middle of the café.
And for the first time, he understood something else.
Seeing is not enough.
A person has to be ready to see it themselves.
