The mist was dissipating as Melania and her companions stepped onto new land. The forest seemed less hostile now, and nature itself acted differently — it felt as though it was listening to each of their steps, like a living entity waiting for a sign. Melania walked ahead, her eyes fixed on the horizon where the first outlines of a massive stone structure began to materialize. It was a building like none they had seen before. Enormous towers, interwoven with crystalline materials, reflected the light in such a way that they appeared almost invisible when viewed from a distance.

“What is this?” asked Linara, her voice filled with startled wonder. She stood apart, her hand still nervously clutching the compass, which seemed to flicker uncertainly, as though it too were trying to find the right direction.
“This is a refuge,” Melania answered, feeling a cold wave rise in her chest. She didn’t know why, but deep inside, she sensed that this stone complex was more than just a shelter. It was a place that carried ancient secrets, unseen and more significant than any words could express.
And before them stood an arch with a strange symbol, resembling an intertwining of various world elements. It was the image of Eternity — a great spiral leading into infinity, with a glowing light at its center. Among the dark stones of this symbol, a faint drawing was visible — a secret, woven from lines resembling bursts of energy. On the stone wall nearby, one word was inscribed: “The Boundary.”
“This is not just a dwelling,” said Endar, his voice a whisper, yet powerful, even ominous. “This is the place of the boundary, the point where all paths converge. Whoever comes here must choose which side to stand on. Perhaps we did not come here by chance.”
Melania glanced at him. In Endar’s eyes, she saw what she had feared for a long time: a sense that everything that had happened until now was merely a precursor to a much greater battle. They seemed to be approaching the end of one of the cycles, a place where no simple choices remained.
“This place guards the Keeper of the Boundaries,” Linara added, noticing the archway. “If we don’t find him, we can’t proceed. And Eternity will remain at a standstill.”
Melania stopped, surveying the ancient structure, her mind brimming with thoughts. She felt the energy of the place intertwining with her own. What was this “Boundary”? Could it be the heart of Eternity? She didn’t know yet, but one thing was certain: something important was about to unfold here.
“Do you feel it?” asked Linara, turning to Melania. “This energy, these changes… It’s as if everything around us is alive.”
Melania nodded.
“I feel it. And it’s not just power. It’s something alive. The closer we get to this place, the more it feels like we’re becoming part of something bigger.”
Meanwhile, their path led them into the central hall of the structure. In the center stood a large stone table, upon which lay various artifacts emitting a soft light. And there, on a great throne, sat the Keeper. An old man with long white hair and a stern yet wise expression. His eyes were deep, like dark lakes that held the world’s mysteries. He sat motionless, as though awaiting their arrival.
“You have come,” his voice was a quiet echo, reverberating in the emptiness. “I have been waiting for you. You understand that Eternity does not simply offer a choice. It demands responsibility. And the choice you made has already begun to change this world. You have become part of a larger picture, but are you ready to face the consequences of your decisions? It is not just Eternity that stands at the crossroads. It is you as well. Your very essence is starting to transform, and even your most hidden desires may lead to unforeseen consequences.”
Melania felt a chill run down her spine. She knew this was not just a warning. It was the truth she would have to confront.
“We must move forward,” she said firmly. “Otherwise, no one will understand what lies ahead of us.”
The Keeper nodded, a flicker of doubt crossing his eyes.
“Then go. But remember, time is not linear, and every step you take changes the future.”
With these words, he vanished into the air, and the forest, which had once seemed impenetrable, now revealed new paths. Melania knew their journey had only just begun, but now they were no longer mere travelers — they were part of something that could change the very essence of time.
