The sky above Eternity had turned grey and heavy, like a stretched canvas, ready to tear apart. Winds, which once circled around the stable points of the world, now sounded distant and detached, creating a sense that everything in this space was shifting, and this change could no longer be stopped. Melania and Endar walked side by side, each leaving a shadowy trail behind them, which dissipated in the space where time and space no longer worked as they once had.

“We need to find a solution,” Melania said quietly, stopping her step. Her gaze was lost in the infinity, as if it was drawing her back to old thoughts — to the days when Eternity was still stable, when everything had its place and time. But now, even her mind could not grasp all the threads that interwove in this world.
Endar remained silent, as if lacking the strength to answer. His past still weighed heavily on him, and although he had rejected old ideas, they wouldn’t leave him. This changing world irritated his inner sense of justice.
“You can’t not see that everything is leading to chaos, Melania. This… this is not what we wanted to create,” he said, raising his gaze. His voice was firm, but there was an uncertainty in it that was hard to ignore.
Melania turned her head towards him, her eyes shining with inner light that reflected her determination. “I know, but sometimes even in chaos, you can find a way. We can’t just stand still and wait. We need new decisions, new actions.”
Their conversation was interrupted when a figure appeared on the horizon, its silhouette becoming clearer as it approached. It was one of the Guardians of the Threshold — Viktor. His face was calm but with a trace of worry that was hard to overlook.
“You shouldn’t have come here,” he said as he approached, his voice soft like the whisper of the wind, but in it, one could sense the power of the invisible boundaries that restrain any attempt to change reality. “This place is dangerous. Most of those who come here do not return. Time and space here have different rules.”
Endar immediately raised his weapon, ready for any danger. He still didn’t trust Viktor. However, Melania placed her hand on his shoulder, signaling him to calm down.
“We’re looking for answers, Viktor. And it seems that you are the one who can help us,” Melania said, her voice calm but with firm inner resolve. Viktor stepped closer and lowered his head, as if realizing that hiding his information was no longer possible.
“Perhaps I can help,” he paused, then took a deep breath and continued, “But you need to be ready for the fact that the answers won’t always be what you want to hear. What you are trying to understand may turn out to be the very thing that destroys what you’ve so painstakingly created.”
Melania and Endar gathered themselves, their gazes meeting, and in each of their eyes, the same spark of determination flared. They were ready for whatever challenges lay ahead, even if it meant giving up part of what they had built.
“Tell us,” Melania said, her voice calm but with the resolve that left no room for hesitation. “We’re ready to hear it all.”
Viktor looked at them, and after a moment of hesitation, began to speak.
“There is already a conspiracy between you. What you believe to be your strength may become a source of destruction for the new Eternity. You cannot maintain balance if one part of your world tries to hold the other back in its movement. Melania, you can no longer act as you did before. You must understand that there are limits to your influence.”
Melania hesitated. These were words that struck her deeply. Her resolve was tested, and though she didn’t agree with Viktor, his words brought forth a fear she hadn’t anticipated.
“Betrayal is not just an act, Viktor,” she replied. “It is a choice you make. We must make it together. We must find a compromise and preserve what is important.”
Viktor fell silent, and his eyes became clouded. He stepped closer, and his voice grew almost unrecognizable: “If you continue seeking answers in what has already been lost, you will make the greatest mistake of your life.”
In that moment, they felt how dark pain filled the space around them, as if it surrounded them from all sides. Now they knew that the new trials had already begun. Whatever happened next, they had to make their choice. And that choice would change everything.
