Chapter 2: Crossroads

The dawn mist enveloped the earth, spreading over the surface of the Eternal Garden as if blurring the boundaries between reality and possibility. The space was still changing, at times it felt as though every step was altering the very essence of this world. Among the shadows of the great silver trees, the subtle bends of time and memory left deep imprints. They were no longer just part of the garden but its living fabric, transforming into new paths, new possibilities.

Emiren and Ardalys stood on the edge of what remained after the destruction of the old principles of time. Both felt how time was no longer just linear: its flows pulled in different directions, and it seemed more and more that the worlds that once existed separately were now intertwining.

— It’s not just changed time, — said Ardalys, watching how the light spread through the branches of the trees, turning into countless shades. — It created new realities, new beginnings. We didn’t just write a new story into the existing world — we rebooted it.

Emiren looked at him, sensing the weight of these words. What had happened felt like an enormous task, completed not without pain. The decisions they had made caused time and space to act in ways that had never happened before. Now, everything felt more flexible, more unstable.

— We created a new possibility, — he said quietly, — but this is just the first step.

Suddenly, a gust of wind reached them, carrying with it a new, unknown presence. It wasn’t just a physical change in the atmosphere, but something more. Out of the thick trees, a figure appeared. Its contours were blurred, like a ghost that could transform into any form. It stood at the edge of the boundary, as if observing, choosing the right moment to intervene.

— It seems that we have become creators not just of the new, — whispered the voice, dissolving into the air, — but of new threats.

The figure moved closer, and now it was clear that this was the one who watched over the balance of the world — The One Who Guards the Balance. His eyes glowed with cold light, causing the fire to melt away to the level of tears. He was like the one who observes uncontrollable forces that aim to destroy order.

— We have violated all boundaries, — said The One Who Guards the Balance, watching them, — now the balance is on the verge of destruction. Those who should not have existed are starting to reveal their essence.

Ardalys, confused, looked around as if waiting for something new, something terrifying, to appear. The time they had created had not yet taken shape, and that was dangerous.

— What can we do? — he asked, watching how dark energy swirled around them, something that should never have appeared in this world.

The One Who Guards the Balance raised his hand, and waves began to move in the air, dispersing cracks around them. They were not physical, but it seemed like the very space was feeling how it was being lost.

— Now every choice has its price, — he replied, and his words took on weight. — These new realities, created by you, bring not only light but also shadows that you don’t yet see. You will have to face them.

Emiren couldn’t ignore these words. He knew that now they, with Ardalys, were not just the creators of a new time, but of everything that would arise on their path. This world needed support, but forces were appearing that could destroy it. And all their actions had become irreversible.

— How can we undo it? — asked Ardalys, feeling fear in his soul.

— It’s impossible, — said The One Who Guards the Balance, — nothing can be undone. But you can preserve what is not yet a mistake.

At that moment, new forces appeared: black flying creatures, dark, undefined, the echoes of their actions. They moved among the space, testing the boundaries, looking for cracks through which they could slip into the new realities.

— We must act, — said The One Who Guards the Balance quietly, — otherwise, these creatures will consume everything.

Emiren took a deep breath. He was ready to act, to fight against what they themselves had created.

— And what should we do? — he asked.

— Take them inside, — said The One Who Guards the Balance. — Everything that is created needs control. And this will be your final mission — to take them into yourself, to absorb them into the abyss of your essence and restore balance.

Ardalys looked at him with doubt.

— Won’t that be our destruction?

— Maybe, — said The One Who Guards the Balance, — but it is the only way.

The dawn continued to spread across the world, and in that moment, Emiren realized: now they had become not just creators, but guardians.
