Chapter 20: The Roots of the Future

Dawn in the Eternal Garden was approaching. The sky, once shrouded in clouds, now shone with the shimmering hues of gold, silver, and soft blue light. Every part of the Garden felt the renewal, but with it—an underlying tension. Emiren, standing on a hill, watched the changes swirling around him. He knew that this was not the end of his journey, but only the beginning.

The Challenge of the Unknown

The slender trees, once mere shadows, now stretched their branches towards the sky, as if begging for help. Yet amid this harmony, Emiren felt something else. Deep beneath the earth, where the roots intertwined, darkness was beginning to stir. Its presence was barely noticeable, but enough to make Emiren stop and listen.

“Do you feel it?” asked Aliana softly, standing beside him.

Emiren nodded. A pulsation emanated from the roots, like a faint heartbeat, but each rhythm was heavy and muffled, as if something below the surface was trying to break free.

“These are those who were forgotten,” she continued. “The roots left without light, without a voice. Their power is great, but they are filled with anger.”

“Can they be saved?” asked Emiren.

“It depends on you,” Aliana replied. “But be careful. The darkness in the roots can consume even the strongest of us.”

Descending into the Depths

Emiren lowered his hand to the earth, and golden threads of his power stretched down, penetrating into the roots. The ground beneath him began to glow, and before his eyes, another dimension unfolded. It was a vast network of roots—immense and infinite, shining like the starry sky. But among the glow, there were dark knots pulsing with chaotic energy.

“This is their pain,” Emiren said, his voice soft but full of compassion.

“Pain breeds choice,” noted Aliana. “But choice can be both destructive and healing.”

Emiren focused. He touched one of the dark knots, and before him appeared an image of the world that once grew from this branch. It was a world of endless chaos, where time unraveled uncontrollably, creating endless loops and destruction. The people of this world lived in constant fear, knowing neither their past nor their future.

“They created this themselves,” Emiren whispered. “But do they deserve to be forgotten?”

“No one deserves to be forgotten,” Aliana replied. “But not everyone deserves rebirth.”

The Choice of the Heart

Emiren knelt, feeling the weight of his decision. The darkness of the roots was alive, whispering to him, promising power, knowledge, and dominion if he allowed it to break free. But he also felt something else—a quiet, faint voice of light, struggling to pierce through the gloom.

“What will you do?” asked Aliana, her gaze cautious.

“I will try to heal them,” Emiren replied. “But not at the cost of the Garden’s harmony.”

He extended both hands, and golden light flowed through his fingers again, weaving with the darkness. His power met resistance, but he did not retreat. The pulsation of the darkness grew stronger, but at the same time, the golden light began to envelop it, like a warm stream of water.

The darkness began to recede. One of the knots, pulsing the strongest, suddenly burst forth in light, and from it grew a new branch. It was fragile, with delicate leaves, but its color was bright green, like a fresh sprout.

Returning to the Light

When Emiren rose, the ground beneath him stopped trembling. The darkness in the roots still lingered, but it had lost some of its power.

“You found balance,” Aliana said, her voice gentle. “But remember, darkness always returns.”

Emiren looked at the Garden. Now, he saw not only its beauty but also its flaws, the shadows hidden between the trees.

“I’m ready,” he said confidently. “Ready to accept this Garden as it is and help it become better.”

Aliana nodded, and together they headed towards the heart of the Garden, where new challenges awaited. The light of the new dawn illuminated their path, promising hope for the future.
