Chapter 3. The Search for an Answer

Tarik continued his journey across the endless expanse, where the land merged with the horizon. The valley he entered was filled with mysterious sounds: the crunch of stones underfoot, the rustling of branches in the wind, and the soft echoes from the distant mountains. Yet his mind was not occupied with these sounds, but with the questions that had been haunting him since the moment he set out on this journey. Eternity, guardianship, and his inexplicable connection to it all—everything tangled together in his consciousness, and each step seemed to lead him closer to the inevitable confrontation with the truth.

“Do I even have a purpose?” — a question that had long taken root in his soul now felt far more complex. Tarik sensed that he was not merely walking through this land, but through something much greater, through a destiny that had been with him from the very beginning. What was he meant to find? And why him?

If he looked back even just a little, he would remember all the moments when his life had been on the line. He had felt danger pursuing him, but always, just when it seemed everything was lost, something or someone had saved him. Those memories were blending more and more with his doubts and fears. He couldn’t understand who or what stood behind this invisible hand that had guided his life.

And yet, in this moment, he felt that the answers could only be found within himself. But was he ready for what he might discover? What if it wasn’t what he expected?

Raising his eyes, he saw the distant mountain peaks catching the last rays of the sun. The mountains stood there like silent witnesses to all that had occurred, and Tarik could sense that they too knew something, some secrets hidden deep within their ancient stone lines. It was another sign that he was drawing closer to something monumental.

His gaze shifted back to the horizon. There, where the earth met the sky, he saw a flicker, like a phantom light. Tarik stopped, unsure if it was just his imagination or a sign. His heart beat faster, and he began to move forward again, but this time he felt that each step was guiding him toward a truth he had been searching for all along.

Tarik once again felt that inner voice. Not a physical voice, but something deeper—a whisper from within his very consciousness. “You are searching for more than just answers,” he murmured to himself, as if the words were only an echo, but their power pierced through every fiber of his being.

“I have to find this,” he whispered aloud, paying no attention to how the world around him grew eerily quiet, unnervingly still. “I must learn what lies behind my path.”

It was no longer just a desire. It was his calling.

Suddenly, like the tension of a stretched string about to snap, he felt a shift in the atmosphere around him. It was like a breaking point, a moment of stillness just before something huge would unfold. In his heart, a deep sense emerged—now, he had to make a choice. A great choice that would not only define his fate, but the fate of everything he had ever known.

No one could help him now. This was his trial, and he stood before it, as if before the last barrier.

Without hesitation, Tarik took a step forward.
