The strangest thing is when someone else sees the same thing.
He didn’t notice her at first.
Not because she was hiding.
There was simply nothing about her that demanded attention.
Ordinary.
So ordinary his eyes passed over her without stopping.

He only saw her when she stopped.
Suddenly.
In the middle of movement.
As if something had cut through it.
It looked… familiar.
He did that too.
Briefly.
Almost imperceptibly.
But completely, on the inside.
She stood there for a few seconds, not moving.
Then she took a step back.
Not forward.
Back.
As if correcting something that hadn’t happened yet.
He didn’t look away.
And at some point, she felt it.
She turned and looked at him.
Directly.
No question in it.
As if she already knew why he was looking.
That was strange.
And too fast.
He felt something shift.
Not a signal.
Something else.
Recognition.
She started walking toward him.
Not quickly.
As if she was continuing something that had already begun.
She stopped next to him.
And said:
You ignore it too?
He didn’t answer right away.
Not because he didn’t know what to say.
The question was too precise.
No context.
No explanation.
And yet completely clear.
He nodded.
Barely.
She didn’t look surprised.
As if she expected that answer.
They stood in silence for a few seconds.
And there was more meaning in that silence than in any explanation.
He broke it first.
What is it?
She didn’t answer immediately.
Looked somewhere past him.
As if checking something.
Then said:
Too late to ask after.
He smiled.
Briefly.
Not because it was funny.
Because it was familiar.
She looked at him again.
And added:
You already knew.
He said nothing.
It wasn’t a question.
She turned and walked away.
Just as suddenly as she had stopped.
And in that moment, he felt something new.
Not a signal.
A direction.
Not a thought.
A movement.
And for the first time, he didn’t ignore it immediately.
