Chapter 6: Shadows and Light of Choices

The light that flashed when Melania touched the sphere was not bright. It was more of an eternal, deep light that absorbed everything around and yet filled the space, expanding the boundaries of reality. The labyrinth ceased to exist as a unified structure. It began transforming, pulsating and changing, turning every corner into a new reality, a new challenge.

Melania felt her body, spirit, and even her very essence change as she stood in that place. She became part of this world, and at the same time, this world became part of her. All questions, all answers intertwined in a single flow, existing only here and now.

Avella and Archon stood nearby, their faces changing so quickly, as though they, too, were part of this transformation. Avella was focused, her eyes shining, and in her hands, she held a crystal that had barely given off any light before, but now it was glowing brightly, reflecting everything around them. Archon was silent, his face frozen, as though he were trying to understand this new order.

“This is not just change,” whispered Avella, looking around. “It’s like a journey into the heart of existence itself. Melania, what you did didn’t just break the chain… it created a new reality.”

“Are you saying we’ve changed everything?” Melania asked, her voice echoing off the unseen walls of the space.

“Yes,” Archon said quietly. “We’ve changed how this world exists. But every such decision comes at a cost. And we are only beginning to understand what awaits us.”

The space around them shifted; the lines of the horizon became blurry, and the dark forces seemed to retreat back into the depths from which they had emerged. The shadows that had filled the space just a moment ago began to fade. But in their place, new forms appeared — light, mysterious, and sometimes even frightening.

Melania stepped forward, feeling her heart beat in sync with these changes. Every step she took became a choice that altered this world. She couldn’t grasp whether this was a path to a new world or, on the contrary, to the end of everything they had once known.

“Now we need to understand what we have changed in order to understand how it will affect us,” said Archon, leaning closer to her. “What we destroy or change becomes part of us. Without that, we cannot exist in this new world.”

Melania paused, her gaze fixed on an invisible point in the darkness. She realized that change didn’t come from external forces. Everything that was happening to her and her friends was a result of their inner growth, their decisions. And in order to change the world, she would have to change herself. But was she ready for that?

“We must be ready to become part of what we create,” she said, lifting her head. “And then, when we change this world, it changes us.”

Avella looked at Melania thoughtfully.

“Perhaps that’s the essence of choice — to change yourself in order to change what surrounds you.”

Melania nodded, and they continued, absorbed in the new branches of the labyrinth. Their steps grew louder, like an echo that tore through the silence. And every new choice became more crucial, because this labyrinth was no longer just a place; it was a reflection of their inner world.

With each step, they came closer to a new truth, to a new power that they had to understand in order to survive what awaited them ahead. The labyrinth was not simple, but it was their reflection. Now, each of them had to understand how to become part of this world and how, through this change, to gain what they needed.

“If we want to change this world, we must become what we want to change,” whispered Melania, her voice merging with the shadows that surrounded them.

And the three of them understood: this path would not only change them; it would change everything they once knew about the world and themselves.
